Applied technologies will boost animal production and scientific culture in Camagüey

Camagüey, September 1.-The Friends of Genetics group of the Camagüey branch of the Cuban Association of Animal Production will promote technologies that accelerate the acquisition of new specimens in the 13 municipalities of this province. The initiative seeks to encourage research and expand the culture of working with different species, strengthening the sustainability of the local agricultural sector.

The program proposes to expand Cuban gene pools and update the farmers working in this key area. Through workshops, manual consultations, and access to articles from specialized publications, it seeks to provide modern tools that facilitate decision-making, genetic management, and breed improvement.

With a focus on applied science, the initiative seeks to revive the culture of caring for different herds. Management practices, genetic selection, and technologies that allow for improved performance without losing animal welfare will be prioritized, all within a framework of responsibility and productive ethics.

Planned actions include training sessions for producers, technicians, and community facilitators, as well as the creation of experience exchange networks. The goal is to consolidate a culture of innovation that translates into tangible results for rural families and regional food security.

The implementation of these technologies will not only boost production but also promote ongoing research and greater access to specialized information. This will hopefully strengthen national genetics and the sector's resilience in the face of economic and environmental challenges, benefiting the province.
